The garden - wow! This is the most peaceful place to relax under the shady trees; the small pool and bougainvillea are a bonus too! No other places up for rent in Mertola offer this!
Casa do Armeira is unique!
Mertola’s old streets are narrow but filled with the most beautiful architecture; very pretty!
Yes the bathroom is small but we didn’t spend so long in there, so it wasn’t a problem!

  A beautiful and atmospheric house in a wonderful location. We appreciated the decor, little touches and especially the plunge pool as it was 40 degrees the two days we were... read more there. The communication with Catarina was excellent and she ensured everything went smoothly. The house stays nice and cool, even in the summer heat and was very comfortable. We enjoyed the rooftop balcony in the morning and evenings, and the shade of the inner courtyard during the day. Mertola is a very beautiful village and we always enjoy our visits there. There are a good range of restaurants within walking distance. The only challenge we had was with access at this time, due to the closure of the outside access road and you cannot park beside the house, as parking within the old village is restricted to residents. It looks as if this will soon be restored however. We would highly recommend Casa do Ameiro.
